General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

The CSI school of Nursing , Karakonam is attached to Dr. Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College and Hospital, Karakonam. The Nursing School buildings were constructed in 1997. The General Nursing and Midwifery Course started in the year 2000 with an intake of 20 students. Now the strength is 40. The total duration of the course is 3 years. The students have to appear for both theory and practical examination conducted by the Board of Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council at the end of each year. All the students are bound to stay in the accommodation provided in the campus. All the students are expected to enroll in the activities of the Student Nurses Association of India. Following the successful completion of training, a certificate in nursing will be issued by the board which can be registered in the ‘A’ section of the Register of Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council. The entitles the nurse to practice as a trained registered nurse and midwife (R.N, R.M).

CSI School of Nursing aims to train, equip, maintain and to up bring the standard of young men and women in the promotion of physical, mental, social and spiritual health of the people. CSI School of Nursing ensures that the teaching and training are in line with the motto “In love Serve One Another”.
