Paediatrics

Department of Pediatrics was established in the year 1996. Even before that the service to the children in the thickly populated areas including the border area of Tamil Nadu was rendered free of cost by the qualified pediatricians both in the hospital as well as by visiting their homes. This was the only center where extreme preterm babies were taken care with minimal costwith less mortality and morbidity.

Today by the grace of God, and the effort of committed mission oriented doctors, the department has grown up to take care of all complicated childhood illness in the community and we are sure that this is the only institution in the southern part of Trivandrum bordering Tamil Nadu where quality child care is available at affordable cost.

We are conducting outreach programs and school health programs regularly to identify preventable diseases at earlier stages of life.

Our out-patient strength is around 120-140 per day with bed occupancy of almost 86-90 % on all days. The department has a 72 bedded pediatric ward. We have 5 bedded Level-3 neo-natal ICU for in-born babies and separate 5 bedded neonatal ICU for out-born babies. Our 5 bedded pediatric ICU is well equipped to manage all the critically-ill children.
